This Ph.D. project investigates the impact of 2D material architecture on the electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries, with a focus on silicon as a candidate anode material. Silicon, known for its high theoretical capacity, was studied in a 2D structure to assess its potential as an anode compared to conventional silicon architectures. The study aims to evaluate the electrochemical performance of 2D silicon and its ability to mitigate the volume expansion typically associated with silicon anodes in lithium-ion batteries.
